Cathy I have so many comments to make on this haha. First, yes to experiments, ALWAYS! (That's the whole premise of my Substack!) I used to berate myself for all the "wasted time" I spent when I intended to write, puttering around, cleaning up, etc. etc. Then I decided to call it my "Ready to Write" routine and so the first thing on the list is--Clean up for 10 minutes--so now puttering IS part of writing! ;)
Slow starts are such a lovely lovely gift to self.
And ironically, or at least I’ve found it to be so, they actually don’t slow you down at all, but rather give you the energy to focus when you get there, to the focusing part I mean.
Ha, ha, ha. I was reviewing my “possibilities list,” which is what I call a to do list that is way too long but filled with tons of fun things I want to do, and said to myself, “Cathy, this buffet is too big. You need to be more selective!”
Found this very inspiring - and as always, had many smiles enjoying your way with words.
Thank you, Sue, for being such a loyal and supportive subscriber. Means the world.

This was so good I restacked twice! You have inspired me to get a grasp on the illusive morning ritual. 🩶
Wow! Thank you so much, Lyns. I'm so glad it resonated.

Great post, Cathy! ♥️
Thank you for reading, Holly. I have found this too.
THREE challenges?!? Are you mad, woman? 😂 🤗 Coming up with a morning routine that helps ease in the "work" makes total sense.
